Police and army operations have left 27 rebels dead. Rebel units appear to be attacking tourist targets for the first time, burning down hiking cabins and other facilities. Tourism is a major industry and the number of tourists has fallen by more than half in the past year (as many as half a million tourists arrive in a good year.)
