Israeli prime minister Sharon announced three conditions the Palestinians must meet before  the blockade of the Palestinian territories will be lifted. First, Palestinian leader Arafat must issue a public call for an end to violence. Second, the the Palestinian Authority take steps to end violence and especially the official propaganda that incites violence. Finally, security cooperation must resume. Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew into Lebanon and broke the sound barrier over populated areas.
