The government says it has stopped building equipment (centrifuges used for uranium enrichment) needed to produce nuclear material that could be used in nuclear power plants, or nuclear weapons. The  centrifuge design was apparently bought from Pakistani scientists (who stole it while working in Europe during the 1970s.) This will slow down, but not stop, the effort to build nuclear weapons. The government is trying to repair relations with European governments, who are upset with Iran lying to UN nuclear weapons inspectors about the extents of Irans nuclear weapons program.
