Despite strident media reports of terrorist threats to foreign aid workers in Aceh, there was no Islamic radical violence against the foreigners. The government ordered many Islamic radicals out of Aceh, and the radicals left. Jemaah Islamiyah, originally an Indonesian organization, is seeing more activity in the Philippines and Malaysia. Islamic radicals are still operating across Indonesia, but not very effectively in the face of counter-terrorist operations. The Indonesian Islamic radicals speak loudly, but have been increasingly reluctant to act in the face of pressure from the people and police.
