  The government says that, since martial law was lifted in Aceh two months ago, 230 separatist rebels have been killed. Another 114 rebels were arrested and 95 surrendered. Also, nine soldiers and two policemen were killed, and 16 soldiers wounded. In the last month of martial law, which ended on May 19th, 170 rebels were killed. The rebels deny that the army has killed than many, or that many of the dead are innocent civilians.
