Police arrested six terrorism suspects in Central Java. Also seized were guns and ammunition, and other materials indicating plans for terrorist operations. Until al Qaeda struck in Spain this year, killing 200 on March 11th, Indonesia had been the primary target. In 2002, an al Qaeda bomb killed 202, and another last year killed 13. There have been several smaller bombings. Indonesian al Qaeda members are believed to be behind the terrorist bombings in nearby Philippines. Jemaah Islamiyah is the local branch of al Qaeda.
