  Despite the end of martial law in Aceh on May 19th, the fighting between troops and rebels continues. There are a dozen or more deaths a week, mostly rebels and civilians. Aceh is also introducing Sharia (Islamic) law. At the moment, most of the activity by the 75 Sharia Police is to warn or arrest women who are not properly covered up.
