 The government believes that the Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist organization is involved in the recent spate of attacks on Christians on Sulawesi. The same people who have been active in Jemaah Islamiyah have also shown up in Islamic militias that attack Indonesian Christians.

The navy captured a boat used by Aceh rebels, and freed ten fishermen that the rebels had been holding prisoner for ten days. On land, the low level fighting  continues in Aceh, leaving a few people dead every day.
