In Aceh, police have arrested several local civil servants on suspicion of working with the rebels. Local officials have long been suspected of being pro-rebel, but only recently has any of them been arrested and questioned. 

Military operations in Aceh have, so far, left 202 rebels, 18 civilians, 21 soldiers and three policemen dead. The 40,000 soldiers and police are trying to eliminate a force of 5,000 rebels.
