The government is putting more pressure on Sweden to arrest the leadership of the principal Aceh rebel organization; GAM. The leaders of GAM fled to Sweden in the late 1970s and found refuge in Sweden, where most eventually became citizens. They raise money for GAM from Sweden, and communicate with the GAM fighters in Aceh via cell phone and email. Sweden has demanded proof that the GAM leaders are involved in rebellion, and Indonesian diplomats are on the way to Sweden with what they say is the evidence.
