 The government has admitted that there is some al Qaeda activity in the country. The government has been reluctant to confront local Islamic radicals, but it appears that some of the radicals have been supporting al Qaeda. These extent of the al Qaeda operations in the country is unknown. But police have been arresting Islamic radicals who have been going about in groups trying to close nightclubs and parties where men and women were together. The Islamic radical groups deny that they support terrorism, but more and more of their imprisoned members are providing incriminating details.
