Three hundred policemen are traveling to Central Sulawesi to help enforce a December peace deal between Christians and Moslems. This arrangement included disarmament supervised by the police. There are already 3,700 police and soldiers in the area and 35,413 weapons (including home made firearms and many types of edged weapons) have been voluntarily given up in advance of the one month mandatory surrender program to begin on March 1st.
