The army says that there will still be a long war in Aceh, despite the death of the rebel leader. The rebels are also claiming "dirty tricks" in the form of a microchip in a letter sent to the late rebel leader. The microchip was supposed to allow tracking of whoever holds the letter. The army claims it was just a regular patrol that ran into the rebel leader's group and that "we don't fight like the Americans." Which is an interesting comment showing the attitude of Third World commanders towards US high tech weapons. American military technology is seen as real, but a kind of magic and the use of it isn't quite fair. The rebels also claim that the microchip was in a letter offering new peace talks.
