On Borneo, armed Dayaks continue to rampage through villages of settlers, killing many and burning homes. The settlers have retaliated, killing two Dayaks in one instance. On Aceh, violence continues. During the last 18 days of February, 72 people were killed. Most of these were civilians, with only four soldiers and three rebels among the dead. There were eleven gun battles and 88 other violent acts (arson or vandalism.)
