Nearly all Moslem groups, including the extremist Laskar Jihad, condemned the bombing of Christian churches. Many feel that this is an attempt by supporters of the former Suharto dictatorship to further destabilize the nation by encouraging more violence between Christians and Moslems. The Suharto crowd has already been caught paying people to riot and pro-Suharto police have been accused of disruptive behavior in East Timor and elsewhere. The Suharto dictatorship got into power via an anti-communist crusade in the 1960s. Over half a million died, and not all were communists. Many of the dead were people whose politics did not agree with Suharto. Meanwhile, a Christian child was shot and wounded while leaving church services in Aceh.
