The navy has blockaded the Malukus to prevent weapons or militants from entering and making the ongoing violence worse. The navy patrols also prevent militants from going island to island to stir up violence. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Moslems rallied in Jakarta calling for a holy war against Christians.
