In South Waziristan, along the Afghan border, Pakistani troops have agreed to a ten day truce, to give tribal leaders, and al Qaeda members (nearly all foreigners) living among them, time to negotiate terms under which the terrorists would surrender, or try to get out. It's estimated that as many as 700 Uzbek and Chechen al Qaeda fighters are living in the tribal areas. The current truce involves tribes that are thought to harbor some 150 al Qaeda members.
