Indian police arrested five people as suspects in last weeks Bombay bombing.

More evidence has surfaced linking Pakistani officials, particularly the ISI (the Pakistani CIA), with al Qaeda. Saudi officials are also accused of tolerating al Qaeda operations in return for al Qaeda not making attacks in Saudi Arabia. This, and the ISI connection, have long been known. But there has never been enough evidence to make the Pakistani or Saudi government admit the connections and do something about it. The ISI worked with al Qaeda partially to increase Pakistan's influence inside Afghanistan, and partly because many senior Pakistanis are Islamic conservatives that agree with al Qaeda's goals (converting the world to Islam).

In Kashmir, the shelling and machine-gun fire across the Line of Control continues, leaving six Pakistani civilians dead.
