India-Pakistan: July 28, 2003

Archives

A bomb went off on a Bombay, India,  bus, killing four and wounding 31. The bombers are thought to be Islamic radicals, responding to attacks on Moslems by Hindu radicals.

In Kashmir, rebel violence left five dead. The pattern of attacks continues as before. Islamic rebels go after Hindus and pro-Indian Moslems while the police catch rebels crossing from Pakistan. Rebels also make attacks on military and police installations, but these tend to be suicidal.

In Islamabad, Pakistan, a bicycle bomb went off and killed the bomber and wounded three others. The attack was apparently part of the violence between Sunni and Shia Moslems.
