In northeastern India, troops killed three NDFB tribal rebels and recovered weapons and explosives. Another rebel group, DHD (Dima Haolam Daogah) attacked a police station.

In Pakistan, police arrested four men accused of planning suicide bombing attacks. The arrested men said they were recruited by al Qaeda.

Maoist (Naxalite) rebels ambushed a police convoy and killed 18 policemen in northeastern India. These rebels have links with Maoist rebels across the nearby border in Nepal.
