Police investigations in Pakistan are finding that a number of militant groups are involved in recent attacks on foreigners. The groups normally attack religious (Shia) rivals or operate in Kashmir against Indians. All of these groups have Islamic fundamentalism in common. This is forcing Pakistan to confront Islamic fundamentalism, which could lead to civil war. Many Pakistanis back Islamic fundamentalism, but many do not.
