India is making the most of Afghan hatred for neighboring Pakistan and has donated money, food and economic aid. This has led to Indian companies getting contracts from the Afghan government. A recent one, worth $1.5 million, is for 80 SUVs and 40 jeeps for the Afghan army. While many of the Indians doing business in Afghanistan are Moslem (about 14 percent of Indians are Moslem), Afghanistan also has a small Hindu (the majority religion in India) population.
