June 21, 2012:
Finland has bought another 25 RG32M wheeled armored vehicles, for $628,000 each. The RG32 is a smaller version of the RG31 MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected). The RG32 is similar to armored hummers and weighs 4.5 tons. It does not have the characteristic MRAP V shaped underbody. It is bulletproof and resistant to explosions and mines (but not as much as the MRAP version). The RG32 can carry five people and is popular with peacekeepers. Finland has bought 49 RG32Ms over the last two years and has been satisfied with their performance in Afghanistan. Sweden has bought 200 RG32Ms and has also successfully used them in Afghanistan.
