Last year, 393 members of the active duty American armed forces were killed in off-duty accidents. Most of these are automobile related. As troops return from Iraq, a slight increase in those deaths is expected, because troops coming back from overseas deployments tend of party more energetically. A new safety campaign includes vivid pictures of the injuries resulting from accidents, to remind everyone to drive carefully and act with safety in mind.
