As of August 20, the U.S. has 187,278 members of the reserve (and National Guard) on active duty. This includes 17 percent of army reservists, 3.3 percent of navy reservists, 18 percent of marine reservists, 12 percent of air force reservists and 15 percent of coast guard reservists. Army troops comprise 71 percent of reservists on active duty. There are some 1.3 people in the reserve and national guard and 14 percent of them are on active duty.
