Sukhoi says that its Su-32 tactical bomber (also known as the Su-27IB) will be available for export in 2002. The aircraft will carry numerous weapons, including cruise missiles with a range of 1,000km. Six prototypes of the Su-32 are undergoing tests. The Russian Air Force has ordered 10 of the planes and expects to order more for delivery later. China is expected to be the first export customer. Sukhoi says that the Su-32 is capable of day and night attacks against land or naval targets, and that it can score hits despite extensive enemy defenses and electronic jamming.--Stephen V
