Battles in Normandy Wins Charles S. Roberts Award!

Staten Island, NY, August 9^th, 2005 -  Strategic Studies Group’s (SSG) (www.ssg.com.au) Battles in Normandy has earned yet another prestigious award. The Charles S. Roberts award, named after the founder of Avalon Hill and awarded to deserving wargames each year, has designater Battles in Normandy the Winner for “20^th Century Era Wargame”! In second place within the same category was another Matrix Games title, War in the Pacific, which was developed by Gary Grigsby and 2by3 Games.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said, “I am pleased to accept this award on behalf of SSG and Matrix Games, with gratitude. If we have anything to say about it, 2005 will bring fans of this genre even more great titles than we had the fortune to see in 2004.”

Battles in Normandy is a part of the Decisive Battles Series, which has previously won a number of awards, including War Game of the Year from both Computer Gaming World and Gamespy, Editor's Choice from PC Gamer, and The Wargamer's Award for Excellence. The series features an operational setting with an easy to use interface. The game is approachable by beginners and masters with customizable AI options to give gamers of all skill levels a run for their money.
