DVG and the Vassal Engineering have announced a new wargaming experience with the launch of their line of PDF and Vassal games.
For those unfamiliar with the Vassal engine, it was developed to allow game designers to transfer their table top games to the computer and allow players to play online.
In the past, there have been tabletop games, and there have been computer games. DVG and Vassal are hoping to use the best from both worlds. Their games are low in price while maintaining very high design and art standards. All of DVG games are available in both PDF and Vassal formats.
DVG currently has four games available: Special Forces, Earth Gone Mad, Star Force Terra, and Hornet Leader II. The next two games to be released are Down In Flames WWI, and then Corsair Leader. DVG is scheduled to release a new game every month or two into the foreseeable future.
The PDF games are laid-out to be easily printed on home printers, and then cutout for tabletop play. The Vassal games can be played on either Windows or Macintosh computers.
Each game comes with a built-in tutorial and help files to allow players to start playing within minutes. Most games can be resolved in 30 to 60 minutes.
All DVG games also come with a free scenario to allow players to ‘try before they buy’.
Dan Verssen has designed such well respected, award-winning, tabletop games as: Modern Naval Battles, Down In Flames, Hornet Leader, 7th Sea CCG, Lightning Midway and D-Day, and Naval Battles.
Additional details can be found on the DVG website: www.dvg.com
StrategyPage hopes to have Dan Verssen's games available soon in the StrategyPage Game Store.
