Weird Worlds Released

Discussion Board on this Wargame news

Anticipated from here to Nebulon Fifteen (the one orbiting Wharzel, not the Nebulon Fifteen in the Rawnad Arm, but you probably already knew that), Digital Eel's Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space has gotten the green light from space command and is now blasting off! Weird Worlds is available in the StrategyPage Game Store.

Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space is a follow-up to Strange Adventures In Infinite Space. With a nod to today's hectic gamer on-the-go, Weird Worlds creates a fantastic universe of epic proportions, yet manages to squeeze it all into an improbably tightly wrapped shell.

In Weird Worlds you can trade with bizarre aliens, discover new lifeforms and ancient artifacts, chart the uncharted depths of space, meet new friends, blast intergalactic scum, and maybe-just maybe-get rich and famous while doing it all. And you can do all this in about thirty minutes or less. Which means this is both the perfect game for your lunch break, and the perfect game for when you want to stay up all night playing games, and feel like you've really accomplished something. After all, what sounds better: "I stayed up all night and didn't even get my half-elf fifth level barbarian/pacifist to sixth level!" or "I stayed up until dawn and managed to become the greatest space pilot in the galaxy a dozen times over!"

Best of all, when Digital Eel promises to take you back to infinite space, they really mean infinite space. Each time you begin a new game the universe is created afresh, meaning that each adventure is a brand new game. There are no patterns to memorize, or secret winning opening moves, each game will challenge your wits and provide you with the joy of discovery.

Infinity doesn't just stop (not that infinity can stop) with the gameplay, either, as Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space is very much a mod-friendly game limited to only one's imagination. Want to trek through the space lanes in a copyrighted spaceship? Go for it! Just watch out for those Paramount attorneys, they breed like tribbles. Of course you can always go for something simpler, such as changing the encounters around or creating your own diabolical weaponry.
