Designer Notes.

Blue Database.

	The blue organizations are based upon the slides shown in the First Report file on the Team Trackless page.  However, there are some substituions:

	The Canadian LAVIII(+) is substituted for the Marine LAV.  This is because the Marine LAV is not capable of holding the number of dismounts currently planned for the Medium Battalion (8 per LAV).  It also has armor superior to that of the M2 Bradley.  It is not in production yet, but could be by the time that the final equipment is selected for the medium brigades.

	The TCP is a tactical command post vehicle, otherwise identical to the LAV ISC.  Use of this varient allows us to track kills of commanders.

	The FOO provides a bonus for artillery fire spotting and acts as the FIST.

	The Battalion Mortar Platoon is shown in LAV Logistics vehicles carrying 120mm M121 mortars.  THey will need to be unloaded before they can fire.  TACOPS does not yet have LAV-120mm Mortar carriers.

	The ADA platoon is notional, but similar to Bradley Linebacker Batteries and included to provide air defense.  Avengers could be substituted.

	To change vehicles to try other varients and organizations, select the icons you wish to change (for instance LAV-AG) and then choose "Change Weapons and Equipment Blue" then choose the weapon system you wish to change to.  We should consider the use of the Armored Gun System and the LAVIII(+) TUA under armor for the LAV AG, for instance.

Red Database.

	The Red Database is based upon FM 100-60 organizations and models an OPFOR motorized rifle Division.  THe "type" division has two BTR regiments, a BMP regiment, and a tank regiment, although varients can be found of almost any combination.

	To change the BTR regiment to an organization based upon trucks, use the Change equipment Red menu to change the BTR's to one of the two trucks in the DB.
