Mark of Respect

1 LT Johnathan Rozier was a member of the 1st Armored Divsion, killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom in July of 2003. His grandmother had been a long time employee of Tidewater Marine. Tidewater Marine is a manufacturer and operator of off shore oil supply and service vessels. Traditionally, Tidewater names their vessels its retired employees with the person's first name and Tide as the second name, such as Robert Tide or Susan Tide.

Tidewater Marine decided to honor the grandson of their long time employee by naming their newest vessle for him. This is and will be the only boat in Tidewater's inventory that was named with the full name of the person being honored. It is quite a machine and will be used worldwide, not just of the Gulf Coast.

The vessel was christened the MV Jonathan Rozier in Amelia, LA on February 1st by his wife Jessica Rozier. The Johnathan Rozier is, at $11 million and 207' in length, the costliest, largest and the first of four of this particular type of oil rig supply boats of which Tidewater is taking delivery. They have 550 boats now, the rest vary from really small to just smaller by quite a bit than this one.
