This is an interesting political wrinkle --Sudans President Omar al-Beshir has invited the SPLA to join his ruling Islamist National Congress Party once peace is achieved in the Sudan. Bashir also said the SPLA could form its own party. This suggests Bashir is willing to accept multi-party politics. It also suggests hes concluded the SPLA cant be beaten in the field.
