Russia has agreed to supply Iran with some $300 million worth of military equipment a year. Iran is in the midst of a $25 billion rearmament program. In Chechnya, rebels are using landmines more extensively, planting some twenty a day on roads in the region. These mines are a major source of Russian casualties.
