In the south, NPA rebels robbed a bus and looted three homes, saying they expected to find weapons. Communist NPA has been increasingly short of cash since the US and other nations declared them a terrorist organization and interfered with fund raising overseas. 

Police found 4,500 blasting caps being smuggled to an Abu Sayyaf camp in he south.
