Troops on Basilan killed ten Abu Sayyaf rebels while rescuing four of the rebel's captives. Abu Sayyaf  threatened to kill their two American captives on Basilan island unless the government agreed to negotiate and called off the army. Troops are advancing deeper into the mountain jungles and believe they have a unit of 60 Abu Sayyaf rebels (plus most of their captives) trapped.
