The United States has agreed to support the Israeli plan to pull out of Gaza, and maintain many Jewish settlements, without waiting for Palestinians to agree. The inability of the Palestinians to get their act together has stalled peace negotiations for years, and the Palestinian terrorism and "destroy Israel" propaganda is seen as pointless. Israel plans to be out of Gaza by 2005.
