The government is accusing Yassir Arafat of ordering the recent terror attacks and trying to disrupt the current peace effort. It is felt that Arafat sees the Palestinian radicals as the strongest faction in Palestinian territory and wanted to be perceived as on their side. 

US, Israeli and Turkish warships held search and rescue exercises off the Turkish coast. Eight ships and eleven helicopters and aircraft were involved. Israel and Turkey have had a military cooperation agreement since 1996.  

Israel destroyed the family homes of the two suicide bombers who killed themselves in yesterdays attacks.
