The 16 months of fighting in Israel has left 1,137 dead so far. Palestinian leader, losing the war of world public opinion because of the attacks of Palestinian radicals, is trying to suppress the radicals. Arafat is making progress, although many Israelis feel Arafat is just going through the motions (as in arresting terrorists, then immediately releasing them.) The violence is increasing again.
