The war in Afghanistan and tighter security on the Afghan border has slowed down drug smuggling considerably. This can be seen in the increased number of Iranian drug addicts dying from impure heroic (sometimes cut with deadly substances.) In the past two weeks, 60 addicts have died from this sort of thing.
