Another rebel was killed near a Hindu temple in Kashmir, where rebels have been holding out for two days. India says that these rebels were part of a group of five that recently sneaked across the Line of Control from Pakistan.

Although Pakistan now has a new prime minister and cabinet, the result of recent elections. This is the first elected government since 1999. President Musharraf still has the power to call new elections. Worse yet, Pakistan is still sliding towards civil war and breakup. Regional and religious violence is increasing and even military coups may not be enough to keep the nation together in the next few years.
