India-Pakistan: April 24, 2002
In Kashmir, rebel activity left four rebels three soldiers and two civilians dead. One of the dead civilians was the mother of a local policeman, who was also killed. The rebels have been going after more local police and suspected informers of late. This is because the Indians have been more successful at obtaining local support. While most Kashmiri Moslems still support the rebels, the war has been going on for over ten years and many Kashmiris are getting tired of it.
