ELN rebels returned the body of Ancizar Lopez, a retired government official and the former state governor (Quindio state in the 1960s), to his family. Lopez had been kidnapped three years earlier, but the family and the rebels were deadlocked on the ransom negotiations. Lopez was 83 years old and died of kidney failure.
