The war is getting increasingly ugly, with FARC now regularly targeting senior government officials and legislators. Today, a group of FARC rebels attacked the home of a legislator with rifles and grenades. A security guard and passerby were killed before police arrived to drive off the attackers. Other legislators have been kidnapped. Legislators who agree with FARC are not attacked (the AUC sometimes goes after them, but not as energetically as FARC)..
