Subject: The UN must die!
PowerPointRanger    3/26/2007 11:16:24 PM
The UN was built upon the notion that if we all just got together and talked, we could all get along (and sing a chorus of kumbaya).

It hasn't worked for a number of reasons, but here are the big ones:

--There are more corrupt countries than honest ones
--There are more countries that don't respect civil rights than do
--There are more countries that don't have money than do
--Everyone gets a vote, no matter how much they have proven their bad intentions
--The UN relies on compromise for its solutions, which usually means giving bad guys part of what they want (thus rewarding them).

The UN has sadly has degenerated into an organization whose only purposes are to:

1) Redistribute the wealth of the world (more specifically, US wealth)
2) Legitimize outlaw nations and villify the one which try to do the right thing.
3) Spy on the US

Thus, the US should evict the UN from its currect home (in New York) and replace it with a more select organization that will:

1) include democratically elected governments (only)
2) include governments that abide by the internation rule of law
3) demonstrate a respect for civil rights

In fact, NATO would be a fairly good core for this new organization. It should also such include countries such as: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Sweden, Finland, India, Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, & Iceland.

It would not include: Russia, China, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, Saudia Arabia...well, you get the idea.

This is not to say it wouldn't add (or subtract) countries as appropriate. For example, Venezuela would probably get the boot as Hugo Chavez has turned his country from one of the world's oldest democracies to one of its newest dictatorships.
Iraq and Afghanistan? Maybe, but not right away (they do have some human rights issues).
