Subject: Non-Muslim terrorism
evlstu    9/7/2004 11:47:35 AM
I just briefly scanned the website and was wondering two things: 1) How many terrorist acts have been committed by NON-MUSLIMS since 9/11, and; 2) Are there any NON-MUSLIM terrorist groups active in the world today. Please, don't include Afganistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or the US armed forces while answering this question. Those are opinions that should be aired/discussed in another thread elsewhere (and I'm not trying to start a fight). Thanks.

1) Not as many 2) Yes I maintain an Access database of known terrorist organizations in the world, and dossiers on their membership. With about 550 entries of the former, apprx. 75% are islamic and/or Arabic. Discuonting shadowy umbrella groups, that means about 400 or so ACTIVE Muslim terror groups. Most of your other groups are in South America or Africa - and even the latter includes a heavy dose of Islamic underpinnings to their manifestos. swhitebull

MOst of the European based Marxist radicals are has beens. The Maoists in Nepal, the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, the PFLP who are Marxists Palestinians (unlike their Islamist Hamas rivals), Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, PKK in Turkey and Peruvian Shining Path are still about. They are not fighting on behalf of Allah.

Wasn't the French railroad threatened with bomb attacks by a criminal organisation mainly to get money? Also wasn't some Columbian terrorism linked to drugs barons? There were also some bomb attacks by the maffia in Itali to kill judges and to influence the govt. if I remember correctly.
