Subject: Which country is the greatest enemy of Fundementalist Islam?

This is from Iraq board which I think more suitable to this board. From Robert Spencer; the director of Jihad Watch "The Muslim Brotherhood, the prototypical Muslim radical group of the modern age, was founded in Egypt by Hassan Al-Banna in 1928. The Brotherhood emerged as a response to the abolition of the caliphate by Turkish secularist pioneer Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1924. Al-Banna and the Brotherhood considered Islam to have an essential political and social character that needed to be reasserted in the face of the societal ills that had come to the Islamic world with secularism. Al-Banna excoriated Ataturk for separating ?the state from religion in a country which was until recently the site of the Commander of the Faithful.? Sounding notes that Osama bin Laden would echo decades later, Al-Banna characterized the abolition of the caliphate as just part of a larger ?Western invasion which was armed and equipped with all [the] destructive influences of money, wealth, prestige, ostentation, power and means of propaganda.?[2]" Turkey is an enemy of fundementalism since 1924 longer than any other nation. That was not an easy struggle. In Ataturk's time, thousands of fundementalists sent to prison or executed for the charge of treason. Al-Queda not only attacked USA or Europe; it has also attacked Turkey. More than that different fundementalist groups had attacked Turkey or tried to since 1924. Do not be at fault. Biggest enemy of fundementalism is Turkey not USA. They hated Turkey more than they hate Israel or USA. In their eyes we are traitors that have chosen the enemy camp. Unlike them we are secularist, modern. Many of them had much more money than us(especially Saudi Arabia) but they are much more backward. It is easy for a fanatic to label every muslim as a supporter of terrorism. But the truth is opposite. The real war is not a War of Religion, or culture. It is a war for the future of Muslim nations. Will the future of Muslim nations be like secularist and modern Turkey; nationalist Syria-Iraq or fundementalist Iran-Saudia Arabia?

ilpars, No harm no foul. I'm with AK on this. We've played the propoganda war. We can't win. Like you say the people are already pre-dispositioned against us(I dunno why. Fear of a new crusade? Ilsamic pride hurt over having infidels in Arabia? Talking heads bloviating about American imperialism? Fear of McWorld? I dunno.). But, fighting in that arena we have done, and in that arena we cannot win. we couldn't win with Clinton and his predecessors in power either. Like AK said, we're tired of this. We've been trying to only kill the maniacs. It just seems to make them madder. We tried ignoring it(Clinton), and it only seemed to make them madder. As I see it we're rapidly comming down to the option of, "If you won't stop we'll stop you in the bloodiest fashion possible. Lt. the word is 'arclight.'" I don't like it. But we're just not seeing any other real way to keep the nut-jobs from blowing us, you, and themselves up.

Does anyone ever associate India with fundamentalism , yet , it's home tp 150 million muslims . There are occasional cases of religious violence amongst the hindus and muslims , but these are rare . The average Indian muslim is just like any other Indian . We've been subjected to terrorism for the past 57 years , and yet some people people in the US look at me all funny cause I fit the racial profile . This is nothing against the US , I'm just pointing out how sometimes little knowledge can be dangerous . cheers and peace

Turkey. It shows a viable alternative from the inside. They are canny statesmen and great soldiers and made while not exactly a just state(which is as rare as a righteous man strictly speaking), they are a reasonably just state. While Turkey exists all Moslems know that there are other ways for Moslems to raise themselves besides slautering the innocent. Peace be upon you Turkey

Ok hey nice Thread if i do say so myself all the readings are nice. any way ok hey think about it like this 9/11 didnt start ther for the Usa it started in beirut thats when . and the other thing i have to say well they killed 3000 people in the trade center and a coupel more take iraq and afgan as payback and i do belive that If we are pushed to far they are pushed to far someone will use brute force to get ther objective across to eachother Iran for exampel And this propaganda war has been going on since the 80s but it really Took a foothold in the Age of The internet highspeed and world access where you can post it on the net for evreyone to see The war in chechnya the war in kosovo serbia you know thats when The usa Payed them to play with the miloso cronies and military men and has any one wonderd why is russia and china helping iran and other anti usa countrys? if you ask me this is another coldwar type thing like we did in the 60s to the 90s one group agaisnt the other but another thing we lost this propaganda war one we werent prepaired two we didnt know crap about the arabic people and ther ways of thinking But these Arabic people in afganistan iran iraq lebonon syria jordan All they know is war they grew up with it and they live it thnks to israel no offence you Hit them with million dollar cruise missiles and million dollar jets etc you present them with a option of violence and they know that option very well and anyway you can call these men cowards for using the options they do but think about this they dont have Millions of dollars cruise missiles battel ships fighter jets to fight the united states with so they resort to something a bit more usefull crafty and cheap. and another thing yeah turkey is a nice Me country But notice the abrupt Jump in Suicide bombs and explosions in turkey? you never know one day the people agaisnt turkey will rally together and create a new Persian empire of sorts and take back turkey and make it what it was suppose to be because i do not belive we the united states of america can win this war in iraq We leave ok even if It has coold down to the point where no more hostiles *dream* is never happening we leave all coalition forces This is the time we have been waiting for brother allah has shown us our time and we must strike indeed they would and will they would take iraq and put in saddam pro rules but islamist pro ways well the only way i can see this war ending is Nonstop Bombing raids in iraq and the areas to destroy all the hideouts places etc yes innocents will die and no i its not that i dont have confidence in my military but even if we do stay ther and turkey and whoever helps it wont stop gods holy warriors from using cowardish tactics but what im saying is There is no such thing as rules of war who follows them anyway ? anyone china nope russia hell nah and more have never ever followed these rules so i say forget the rules FIRE fire fire in korea we did it in veitnam we did it but speaking of russia this just reminded me of this Russia Leveld Chechnya but still Still they survived so i dont think thats a possible play for none of us we have seen these play out before what the united states is doing in iraq Is tottaly diffrent never seen before in history the steps of doing and handling of a urban warfaire unconvenwarfair i probly backtracked and said things that delete my other words but i really dont know. Oh and if id ever be the president of the united states Install More Troops In the usa to protect our borders Put Money into Bio chem nuclear anti gear and medicines and shelters etc Put back the united states aircraft to full power Bring back outlawed projects that were deemed illegal by the united nations i mean war vehicles and aircraft allie with turkey sighn a allie pact with russia and Vow to help on the fight the terroism thing and make a effort to do so Bring back the Appocolypse nukes ;D and start building more But the biggest threat to turkey even if we remove all the usa bases from the me no matter what they will still hit you and hurt you anyway why you think 911 happend we forgot about afganistan we left them washed our hands of them they got mad they didnt forget we did and yeah turkey is the next biggest one they want to take down besides saudi and egypt and pakistan

Why cant we all understand that yeah we do have diffrent belifes diffrent ideals and things but we all pray to the same god no matter what his message has for you are whatever it is i know for sure that if i was god i would Not could not understand why people are killing themselfs and Desspise what they do in his name and im not trying to diss any islamist but why is the majority of Islam focused on war and claiming attacks on the usa and others whens the last time you heard the pope declaire a war 1049 i think are 69 the crusades after that the religion as a whoal became diffrent took a reform i think thats what islam has to do so and fast are else evreyone who is islamist shall be eradicated and just make more enemys for itsself and why was the prophet into incest? did he marry his 12 year old cousin? and his neice i think it was this is all history based to written and documented by arabic people from eygpt to the nation of palestine before it became israeli but another thing why is the koran so full of Revenge and war ? if you ask me i think the prophet put sumthings in there because of the time it happend and the time what was going on around him thats my opinion
