Oh, help!" Eyeore explains the passage of time: "After all, what are birthdays? Here today and gone tomorrow."

it is CLEARLY refuted in the Tao of Pooh by the Poohbah himself, that the sound of lips smacking honeyless paws is for nought, verily he saith: "And it came to pass, that in the hundredth day of my 100th passage thru the 100 acres of Poohland, having quested high and low for sustenance, and attacked at every turn by the demons of temptattion that grumble in one's belly, that I came unto a solitary honeytree, a veritable arbor of vitae, flowing in milketh and honey." And so it came to pass, that with an outstretched paw, I reached out and grasped the honey that I foundeth in the tree, at the command of the Great Poohbah, who promised me succor and sustenance in this land of wild gorse and wilderness. And with my outstretched paw, did I reach for the honey and extracteth same from the tree. And I brought the milk of the bees to mine very lips, and sought to partake of that sweet nectar. And lo! As my tongue sought out that divine mead of the gods, my lips closed upon nothing by bitterness, for it was nought but a mirage, brought upon by my fevered passage thru the wild gorse. A delusion brought on by my cravings, and by the sins committed by my own covetnous for the labor of the bees. Alack for my weakness of tummy and will. The Grand Poohbah was displeased with me. Vanity of vanities, all is vanity, and my sustenance and repast - all a mirage in my fevered brain. It is further recorded in the Cth'aat Aquandingen, that the 100 acre woods is the entirety of the known universe - surrounded by the universal waters of life - and death. None may penetrate the waters of life without dying, and none may leave the waters dead. The skein of life and death is thus woven in a never-ending tapestry of drownings and revivals, revivals and drownings, and only the Grand Poohbah kens what is wrought outside of the 100 acre woods.
