Subject: Scientific Indications in the Holy Qur'an, Part-I
Achernar    5/8/2004 9:39:30 AM
COSMOLOGY Scientific terms: BIG BANG â??Do not the unbelievers see that the skies and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder?â? [Sura-21: Aya-30] â??God created the skis and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a sign for those who believe.â? [Sura-29: Aya-44] NOTE: Today, science has proven that the universe had a beginning, that is, it was created from nothing. With this beginning called the Big Bang, both matter and time were created from absolute zero. Moreover, all physical balances of the universe from the rate of the explosion (Big Bang), to the values of the four basic forces of physics, from the nuclear reactions in stars to the structure of atom, are tailored to support human life. Scientific terms: EXPANDING UNIVERSE â??The sky we have built firmly and we are expanding itâ? [Sura-51: Aya-47] NOTE: In 1929 Hubble showed that galaxies are moving away from us with a speed proportional to their distance. The explanation is simple, but revolutionary: the Universe is expanding. Scientific terms: CLOSED UNIVERSE â??The day that we roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books (completed), - even as we produced the first creation, so shall we produce a new one: a promise we have undertaken: truly shall we fulfil it.â? [Sura-21: Aya-104] â??will be no more than a single Blast, when lo! They will all be brought up before us!â? [Sura-36: Aya-53] NOTE: It is something like Big Bang and Big Crunch for more you can read Stephen Hawking's â??Brief history of timeâ?. Is there enough material in the universe to overcome by gravitational attraction the force of expansion? If the density of the universe is greater than the critical density, the universe will collapse otherwise it will continue to expand. We have to know how match unobservable material exist in space. Antineutrino might play a big role. Anyway, Allah says in Qurâ??an the universe will collapse. Scientific terms: EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENT â??Allah is He who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends all things in (His) Knowledge.â? [Sura-65: Aya-12] â??And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills.â? [Sura-42: Aya-29] NOTE: In Qurâ??an Allah hint that biological life scattered all over the universe. The form of life (carbon based) is not clear but positively life is scattered through the universe.

Sounds like Ray Bradburry.

Easy, I called up a my friend, Randy Harris,Ph.D, author of 'Nonclassical Physics: Beyond Newtons View', a nonclassical physics text. The I called my friend 'Physics Bill', a Ph.D candidate at UC Davis emphasising in cosmology. They looked at your post and said you were utterly full of it. Now, we can bring up the Bible, which is also the ultimate revelations of the One True God, and divine all kinds of things from it(Big Bang, evolution or 'intelligent design'(depending on who you talk to), the origin of species, the Laws that mankind should live by, etc. ad nauseum.). It's all blather, just like saying that Islam is backed up by String theory. You feel Islam is great. Fine. Bully for you. Expect to get hectored if you try to pass of Islam as supported by science, because it most easily is shown to be not.

Science and religeon should never be used to "prove" one another. Think of it this way: Religeon covers the "why" and science covers the "how."

How about just admitting that it sets up a vicuos set of circular logic?

FIRST I would like to say I am a science nut.To rule out a god based on science to this point is also foolish.Someone mentioned earlier that things were explained to people burning bones good point. In the new new testament it is talked about how knowledge will increase a 1000 times fold in the end days. STRING THEORY says there are 11 possible dimension's which most scientist still can not comprehend, but the math comes out right they still can not explain dark energy and some of you are going to sit there and say god don't exist.I would say get to reading your bible.Science may come close to proving there is no god but, that is as close as it will ever get.I love physics but the facts are if we cannot explain a black hole we cannot explain a god.

the whole religion argument is a pandora's box I won't open. IMO, the proof of something "beyond human, other worldly, and unseen" can easily be argued and supported, depending on your point of view. 1) It all had to come from something, somewhere. Physics even suggests that the smallest components of quarks and neutrinos and the "little stuff" is composed of packets of bound energy (remember Yoda's " it surrounds us, and binds us,..luminous beings are we, not this crude matter..." speech? Puppetry aside, that brings up a good point. But still something had to happen to creat that energy. 2) too many gaps in evolution. Enough said. 3) the "metapysical" and supernatural realms, as we have labeled them. But in time our knowledge and wisdom of just what goes on in the universe will advance to where we understand any "strange physics" that may govern these "unseen" forces, just as our current sciences have revealed EM, gravity, atomicstructure, etc. I can truly say it is all a puzzle waiting to be assemlbed, the finished picture being ultimate understanding. And technically, judging by the vastness we measure/extrapolate/guess the universe to be, and all the farther we have really progressed, as a race we are still infacts. We all need to grow up. And any of us who have kids know that early childhood and adolescence are the tough parts. It will be nice when the day finally arrives when we finally have dispelled all our myths and legends and dismissed all of our superstitions. Currently, religious beliefs seem to exploit that in us more than it probably should, just because all these "divine receivers" don't want to sit down an agree on everything. It's always, "my way is better than your way. I can't prove it, but that's what I believe, so there!" And that ignorance is the cancer that's killing our world today. Science dispels the myths and false prophets, and that is what they fear.

Even Stephen Hawking made some allusions to a spiritual/physical interaction of the world when he came to Shanghai for a lecture. He discussed his view of the universe as being a bubble, the surface of the bubble was the physical world we live in and see, including all physical phenomenon. Inside of the bubble was the existence of the metaphysical world of thought and energy. I've been trying to find more information on this on google and such but have had no luck.
