Again funny. I suppose that India went for the best COTS bird they could get for their type navy. But the lack of an AWACS version of the S-60/S-70 (there is an airborne warning and OTH aniti-ship missile guidance version but not an air battle manager) means that their seaborne naval aviation will have to use Russian or British birds for that role, unless Uncle makes an S-70 AWACs mod just for the Indians.

Very likely it will be Israel that does that work. (Why not? They modify old Fokkers and Bombardiers as a sort of AWACs/ CSIR aircraft). A helicopter (vibration and small size) might be a little tougher..

With Keffler's history of incompetence I do not know what sort of weight to give this post of his... probably better to say that it is questionable.

For my part I would like to say that I am happy to see the USA make a sale like this one in India. I wonder how many they have bought.

When I make a statement, (ASuW) I usually know what I discuss.

When he blathers, it's his ignorance.and personal; animosity on display.

"When I make a statement, (ASuW) I usually know what I discuss." - Keffler

That link reminds me of another one of your bestialities... when you said that the Scorpion would not be able to be rigged to fire a Penguin missile when a helicopter and many other can. This is a subject you know nothing about and could not provide any factual proof.

Keffler... you have a long bestiary of errors and if anyone was so naive to believe you he would be completely at a loss of what anything can do or not.

And do not forget the last one about toilet seats in submarines... unless recently is more than 20 years ago that is another one for your bestiary!

It can't cretin. Wrong wing and wrong avionics. And try to stay on topic, Troll.

Off topic for the nonce,

With a history of 160 years of American subs, yeah, more than 20 years ago would be accurate, cretin.

Or don't you think history predates the LA boats, you truck driver?

It is just chocking the language that Keffler uses... shocking.

Anyway... he is now infolved in a massive repair job after that bestial comment of his about the submarines toilets.

But it has just now dawned on me that when Keffler was in the service they probably did have just one toilet... back in WW2 those subs where smaller and with him serving in the kitchen and with the housekeeping crew... well, you get the picture. He is just not used to any more than one toilet!

As to the eventual order, the Indian Navy has suggested it would like to buy up to 75 machines as recently as May of this year. Assuming they even remotely achieve that number, 12 for three planned carriers, another 12 for shore squadron and reserve, and about 40 for warship operations, that total would vault their ASW capacity into the first ranks. (ahead of just about every power in the region, except the USN).

That would include the PLAN which would be the Indian navy's primary adversary..

It is just chocking the language that Keffler uses... shocking.
