I haven't seen any discussion of this conglomeration of stupidity here. Do any of you actually think this is a good thing?

It will be interesting to see if the Navy sharply reduces the number Marine JSF STOVL aircraft. The big advantage for the Navy is they gain more carrier deck launch pilots at what appears the expense of far afield Marine CAS.

This again boils down to the question of what you understand by tactical air - i.e. ground support. The Navy (and the Air Force) mean nailing the tactical reserve of the enemy's army - which is an immensly valuable thing. The Marines - and to some extend the army - means Close Air Support, which I can't se F-35 do efficiently - effectively perhaps; but with large casualties. Again playing with the Saddamites is no indication of ability in even the Little League.
